Teaching

Kate's vast experience across all genres of music enables her to advise on a broad spectrum of musical styles. Her teaching approach is to give each student individually tailored instruction encompassing musical, physical and psychological aspects of playing. She is also an experienced ensemble coach and has previously worked with the Southbank Sinfonia and the National Youth Brass Band.

 

 

Kate is a Professor of Trumpet at the Royal College of Music and has taught many players who have subsequently pursued a successful performing career. She has a busy private practice and is in demand as a coach and adviser for young players preparing for orchestral auditions. Kate is passionate about helping her students realise their full potential to become the best musicians they can be.
